Sump Pumps

Domestic sump pumps suitable for slightly dirty surface and flood water in cellars and basements, all are equipped with float switches which turns the portable pump on and off automatically according to the water level. All our pumps are rated for submersible, continuous operation and designed to be permanently submerged in water and have the following features:
  • IP68 electrical protection so that the submersible pump can be safely submerged in water permanently
  • Automatic operation with water level detection - this means the pump will start automatically when it detects water and stop when the water has been pumped away
  • Threaded outlets which can be connected to a hose or pipe with simple adaptors - see the sump pumps 'Accessories' tab in the product listing to view suitable UK fittings and accessories
  • What size sump pump do I need?
In order to select the correct cellar sump pump, first determine the vertical height difference in metres between the pump and its discharge point, then for every 10 metres of horizontal distance, add 2.5m. This gives your 'static head' - you need to ensure that you pump is capable of delivering this - check the 'Technical Specification' tab on the pump's page to ensure you don't exceed this. For example, the Ebara Best One MA and MS submersible water pumps have a maximum head of 9m.
What is the purpose of a sump pump?
The main purpose of a sump pump is to pump water away from a building or house, to a place where it can cause less problems
