The Dab NOVA 300 M-A is a single phase domestic submersible drainage pump commonly used to drain sumps and pits. It is well suited to draining cellars and basements that regularly flood. Because it is small and light, it can be kept at home for emergency situations as part of a flooding kit. It can also be used for draining swimming pools and has uses in the garden. The pump has a level switch for automatic operation - it can be installed in a location prone to flooding and set to automatically switch on when there is water to pump, and automatically switch off when finished. The NOVA range all have continuously rated motors, so are often used as fountain or water feature pumps.
The recommended minimum sump or pit size is 400mm x 400mm x 400mm to allow the float switch to operate correctly. There is also a version of this pump available without a float switch, called the Nova 200. It is also available as a 110V version.
